We Made Our 1st Christmas Cards + What We Wore

I feel  like such an official adult because Cameron & I just made our own Christmas cards for the first time ever! I don't know if it's normal to be as excited as I am about this, but I'm pretty stoked to send all our friends & loved ones our first Christmas cards!  I wanted to share how we created our pictures + what we wore.

Making our cards, prepping for the shoot, and putting together our outfits was so much fun for me. I love doing this kind of thing & when it combines all the fabulous things of Christmas it makes it so much more fun! Believe it or not I got our whole backdrop set up in like 10 minutes, the part that took the longgest was trying to get my dog to cooperate for his pictures, there were sooooooo many bloopers from him not wanting to sit still. But, hey, it made looking through the pictures pretty funny, I'll share a few of those below because they're too good not to share.

THE BACKDROP:
For our cozy backdrop I threw together all the white throw pillows I have sitting around our apartment and stacked them under the tree. I did this so we wouldn't have the very basic and dull carpet in our apartment showing in every picture. I then laid down a white throw blanket and laid my faux fur area rug on top to keep the whimsical look I was trying to go for with all the faux fur pillows I just stacked. I then added in my favorite decorations of the season, my LC Lauren Conrad deer. These things are the cutest decor I have ever seen, plus they worked perfect for this look I was trying to put together for our cards. I of course added in a few of the trees I have sitting around to give a pop of color besides just white & furry. FUN FACT: I have a total of 11 Christmas trees throughout our apartment, all different shapes and sizes. I just love Christmas trees, especially the tabletop ones that work perfect for filling empty spaces.
After throwing together the backdrop all that was needed was to pull out my handy dandy tripod and set my camera up on a timer . Voila, part 1 completed!

OUR OUTFITS:
Now  that I had the backdrop completed I needed to pull together our outfits. I already knew what I was wearing because I had purchased this dress with the idea of wearing it for Christmas cards already in mind. I  of course already knew I was going for a more dressy look in this oh so chic grey dress, so with Cameron I needed him to look more casual but not too casual to make me look like I over dressed myself. I had picked up a basic green sweater for him to wear and paired it with a nicer pair of khakis. Very simple but the pants really helped dress up his look a little more. All that was left was for me to throw on some accessories. Luckily I had just picked up some of the most fabulous pieces from Target the night before. (I've shared our pieces right below so you can shop any of it right from this post). Now part 2 complete!

OUR PICTURES:
The last step was to capture the moment. I'm going to share some of our pics below because I think they came together pretty well for a backdrop just thrown together with things I had sitting around & pictures taken on a self timer. Keep scrolling for the bloopers!
