Living in Ohio means there is a good 5-6 hour drive between you & the beach. Don't get me wrong I love Ohio, but I'm counting down the days until I'm in Georgia and can make my way to the beach everyday. I have so many outfits I've bought just for the beach but I only get to go a handful of times a year because it's such a far drive. So while I was getting my outfits pulled out for blog post ideas I thought I'd share a few tips on how to get a beachy look without even being at the beach.
Tip #1 Easy, Breezy, Basics
I'm a huge fan of flowy tops and dresses. When I think Beach, I think of loose fitting pieces that have a way of just blowing in the breeze. I picked up this basic loose fit tee from abercrombie mainly because I was totally crushing on the color and I love basics. The best thing about this top is that it can be tied up in a knot or tucked in for a simple front tuck. The flowier the better ;)
Tip#2 Frayed shorts
Summer means shorts! I used to HATE shorts because I have thick thighs and they'd be squished and I just looked gross in them. However, I recently started buying fray shorts and I have never worn shorts more in my life than now. I picked up like 5 pairs from Abercrombie because I'm doing total wardrobe make-over and these are my favorite shorts ever. To achieve the beachy look frayed shorts are a must. The frayed ends give your outfit an extra edge. I love it!
Tip #3 beachy accessories
Accessories really help in making your outfit fit together. To get a beachy look it's all about fun patterns, bright colors, and just bold pieces. So I picked up this fun palm pattern purse from Forever21. I love palm tree prints so when I saw this I just had to have it. Palm & pineapple prints are the best for adding to your summer style and achieving the basic beachy look.
If you want to shop any pieces from today's blog post, I've linked them all above so shopping is simple. Happy June!
