As a college kid & a shopaholic I'm always trying to find the best deal for clothes I want to get my hands on. Other bloggers sometime post about killer pieces that I get anxiety about because I go to my "liketoknowit" to shop their look and a dress pops up for 160.00 or a pair of shoes for 200.00. I like to splurge on some pieces but I can't have a closet full of clothes that costs more than my college tuition. So to avoid being in debt at age 22, I have started searching the web for Dupe pieces that are more in the price range I have for now.
A dupe is a piece that looks almost identical to the designer/ higher priced pieces that we love. So shopping for dupes is the best way to get that designer look without having to pay an arm and a leg for it. I found this fabulous dupe of a dress I fell in love with when another blogger posted about it. I knew I had to have it but when I went to the Nordstrom website to purchase it, I had stop myself because that beautiful dress was $158.00! Normally I wouldn't think twice about it but Cameron has been on me lately about my spending habits because we're moving to Savannah GA next year when he graduates. So I pondered about the dress purchase for a few minutes and realized how mad Cam would be so I closed down the browser and tried to clear my mind from giving up this perfect dress.
While I was on Target's website purchasing some flatware for my hope chest I saw a picture of what I thought was the Nordstrom dress. So I clicked on it & it was a dupe of my dream dress but 4x less the price! So of course I had to buy it & of course i'm in love with it! Although Cameron wasn't too happy to hear I still ended up buying more clothes... Oops! (:
The dress is currently sold out on Target, I linked similar dresses from Target. I'll keep my eye out to see if they restock it!
XO,
