Hello Loves!
I hope you all are enjoying your last few weeks or days of Summer. Classes are starting and work loads are about to get the better of us. I don't know about you but I'm really dreading this whole "back-to-school" thing. I really wanted to fit in one last HORA before classes started & I really didn't know if I'd get to. Thankfully I have a good friend who thrives on doing spur of the moment trips. So of course when he asked me on Wednesday to go to Chicago with him on Friday I had to say yes!
I've never been to Chicago or any BIG city so I was beyond excited. I've actually talked about wanting to go to Cloud Gate for months now & honestly my co-workers & boyfriend were probably getting tired of me saying how much I wanted to see "The Bean". So when this opportunity came up I frantically searched through my closet for the perfect outfit that would be worthy to wear in one of the most beautiful cities (& beside the Bean of course).
So in the panic of trying to find the best styles to wear in Chicago I remembered I purchased a fabulous dress from American Eagle just a week before hand. This dress is perfect for a downtown look and it definitely is an eye catcher. I could see myself walking down the streets and feeling as beautiful as the city I was in.
I was really picky when it came to finding an outfit because ONE-I of course want to be comfortable. TWO- I wanted to look dressier but not like I'm about to head to the prom. & THREE I wanted to look like I belong to the city. So I was extremely happy that I picked up this dress. The details on it are beautiful & the high neck really makes this dress stand out. PLUS almost every single restaurant had a classy/ fancy atmosphere, so I'm actually really happy I went with a dress.
Now, for shoes I went with a pair of starpy sandals. They looked really nice with the dress & were actually comfortable. I do highly recommend taking sandals or sneakers or flats because I did take a pair of heeled booties for my night life style & I only made it about 7 blocks. I love heels but my feet don't do so well in them for long periods of times. So i do recommend taking a pair of spare shoes in your purse or bag just in case.
below you can check out our first day/ night in Chicago. Let me know what your favorite places are in Chicago or where we should travel to next or just let me know what you think by commenting below!
XO,
Ellie
