I'm a sucker for a good basic tee, mix that with a peplum style and there you have my everyday uniform. There are so many great things about a basic tee, like how you can throw it on for running out the door, they are super affordable, and the options to style them are ENDLESS. Dress them up or dress them down the choice is all yours and can change on the daily.
I'm all for dressing up a basic tee for a night out on the town or just headed out on a coffee date. I found the cutest black peplum tee and knew it would be a piece I could wear for many different occasions. I'm loving the peplum style because it gives a flirty and feminine spin to just an ordinary basic tee. Which makes it that much easier to dress up.
I paired this top with a distressed, white pair of jeans. That way it gives it a little more of a relaxed look without being too lounge looking. Even just a solid pair of jeans without all the distressed details could amp up the formality of this top, which would be great for a dinner date at a fancy restaurant.
I believe the shoes are really the deciding factor of what sort of look you're wanting to achieve. I'm a total strappy heel kind of gal, but with it being spring you can't really go with anything, flats, sandals, wedges, or booties. Strappy heels can give that more formal look without being super dressy and Sandals give a more casual look (and of course they would be the more comfortable choice, ha)!
Accessories are key to dressing up a basic tee. Since layered necklaces are so in right now, they would be a great option to go with. You can do something more glam like a statement necklace, but if your wanting a soft dressy look, going with a dainty layering piece would be the way to go. To finish off this look I grabbed a black and white striped tote bag to keep that black and white color scheme. A pop of color bag would be a fun twist to this look, and would be perfect for a colorful summer look.
I wore this look for a day out on the town and grabbing some coffee with my girl, Erin, of Lucky Arrow Photography. She is a very talented photographer that just moved to the Huntsville area. I have been so blessed to have met her through Instagram because she has a true talent that I get to share with you all. She took these photos in this post, along with 4 other looks that will be following this post! Shooting with her was so much fun, she made it so comfortable for me to be modeling in a very crowded park, which was so amazing. She also did an amazing job at editing these photos, along with all the ones she shares on her Instagram (@luckyarrowphotography). You all should check out her work and give her a follow because you wont be disappointed. She does absolutely amazing work, I could rave about it all day long.
I cannot wait to share more looks she captured for me to share with you all. You will absolutely love them, so stay tuned!
