August Senior Sunday

Hey loves!
So a few weeks ago I got an amazing suggestion on Instagram by a fabulous follower about a blog post topic I should do. She said I should do a post over styles you should choose for Senior Pics. I know I have high schoolers that follow along with my blog so this was an amazing suggestion. However, I did some thinking on how I should do this because not all of you fabulous readers are in high school anymore. So instead of doing my normal Tuesday blog post I thought it would be a great idea to do a special Senior Sunday a couple of times before winter! This gives you incite on what style would look great for that months senior session.
Now , I've been out of high school for 3 years (sadly I had to think about this) so the way senior pictures go may have changed. I did 2 sessions; one by myself & one with friends, but I don't think those friend sessions are as common anymore. But I also didn't have an actual professional take my pics. I had an amazingly talented cousin with a very nice camera so I can't complain because they looked professional. You can checkout a couple of my senior pics by clicking (HERE & HERE) but be warned I was not into fashion in high school like I am now and my hair was that awful dark on the bottom trend, so please advise these could be terrifying.
ANYWAY, this month I wanted to go for more light weight, colorful, and comfortable style because we're still in those extremely hot summer days. The best bet for August is to pick your fun eye catching colors and something with gorgeous details. I like the back details most because in outdoor winter pics you won't have that beautiful back detail so take advantage in August while the weather is perfect for open back styles. For bottoms I picked a pair of distressed boyfriend jeans because I love boyfriend jeans & it gives character to a top that's dressier, I guess you could say it makes the style look more edgy. For my shoes I picked flats because they looked best with my top, but a pair of strappy heels would also look AHMAZING, especially with distressed jeans. Lastly, for my accessories I picked a boater hat because obviously I'm a hat hoarder. In August your best hat choice would definitely be a boater hat or a sun hat. These types of hats give a summery vibe so it matches best with those bright colors you may choose to wear in your Sessions. Also, you can never go wrong with a statement necklace or even a simple pendant necklace, just have fun with your jewelry & choose what looks best.
I also want to do more interactive things with you guys as my readers, so if you email me some of your senior pics (Dailyelliestyle@yahoo.com) I will feature them on here in my "Senior Sunday" posts! Since this is my first one I don't have anyone's pictures to feature but if you want to check out some awesome senior & wedding pics click HERE for some major inspo! This is my favorite local photographer so let her know how awesome she is doing:)
check out below for pics of my August senior sunday style.

I just got my senior pics back, and I used your idea of adding a hat to the outfit and I loved it!
