6 Ways to Add a Neckerchief to Hair Styles That Take 2 Minutes or Less!

A trend I have been obsessed with since day 1 has been styling neckerchiefs in my hair. There are SOOOOO many ways you can add in a neckerchief into your everyday hair style. I wanted to share 6 ways I have been styling my hair with a neckerchief that are perfect for any on the go look.

Half- Bun

I have such a love-hate relationship with half buns. I love the fun look they give off, but if my hair is not willing to do a decent bun for the day then all bets are off on getting a killer half bun done. More often than not that tends to be the outcome, 30 minutes wasted and cramped arms from trying so many times. But when I can get my hair to work with me I try to add in a neckerchief to give my half bun a little more flavor. My inspo for half buns would be @Shelbyrevis. Her half buns are always so perfect!

 Messy Bun

When it comes to getting ready super quick a messy bun is one of my most go-to hair styles. There are so many ways I make a messy bun, it just depends on how my hair is that day... That probably sounds weird, but it is so true. If my hair is on like day 3 of not being washed then it's typically really slick so I have to do a tight knot look to keep it from falling out and looking like a cinnamon roll on top of my head. But if I just put products in (like texture spray or hair spray) then I can usually do a full messy bun that has lots of volume. I typically try to add in a neckerchief anytime I have a bun just because I personally think it looks like I put more effort in, when in reality it take like 30 seconds. *wink wink*

Pony Tail

Another super quick go-to style when I'm rushing out the door is a pony tail. We all know doing a pony is literally the quickest up-do hair style of them all. Since I have long hair I typically try to do a messy high pony to give it some texture to stay up. With long hair it seems like doing a high pony is a must (at least for me). But again it all depends on what day I'm on with unwashed hair. So since the day that I got these pictures I didn't have too much volume or texture to work with I went with just a normal back of the head pony tail. The thing about doing a pony tail with a neckerchief is that you can never go wrong. Low pony, midi pony, high pony, short pony, long pony- a neckerchief added in will still add an extra bit of style and flavor into a basic hair do.

Half Pony Tail

I really wish my half pony would have worked better for me in these pictures because the half pony tail style have been my go-to lately. I curl my hair every day because I have super frizzy hair since I've moved south so if I don't do anything with it things start to get get a little horrific. Anyway, since I always have my hair curled anyways I just do a simple little half pony to give my hair an extra bit of style and volume. I love how my hair looks with a half pony more than any other way and again it takes maybe 30 seconds to do. By adding in a neckerchief to that half pony it adds onto the look of the outfit, which is perfect if your going for a simple look but touches of accents.

Braid

A braid is a hair style that can be done SOOOOO many different ways and there are endless amounts of different ways a neckerchief can be incorporated. For mine I'm sharing just a classic simple braid with a neckerchief tied at the end of the braid. This look takes less than 2 minutes to do and perfect for anyone who is rushing out the door. I've never had much luck with braids staying in my hair, no matter the amount of hairsprays or texture sprays it's like my hair is cursed to never hold a decent braid. So when I do attempt a braid it's usually something quick like this simple braid I learned to do in elementary school. I have hopes and dreams of one day becoming a braid queen like @amberfillerup. Amber comes up with so many creative ways to do braids it's truly inspiring. I'm sure if you check out her Instagram you can find some pretty amazing ways to incorporate different things into your braid.

Hair Down

The quickest way to add in a neckerchief in your hair is by just tying it around your already let down hair. This takes 10 seconds to do and adds an extra style to any outfit. Like I said before, I curl my hair everyday because it's a nightmare to look at and mess with if something isn't done to it on a daily basis. So after I do a quick curl (takes roughly 7-10 mins for me to do curls) I sometimes just throw a neckerchief around it to keep it from falling in front of my face, and it adds an extra piece to my OOTD. This is so simple and the perfect piece for heading out the door, especially if you are blessed enough to be able to walk out without having to touch your hair everyday, this can make for such an easy hair do for work or class or anything.
